Research Interests
Women's Health
I am deeply interested in women's health and how women communicate their pain to healthcare providers in various settings. My research to date has focused on exploring the rhetoric of women's pain and how it complicates their interactions with the healthcare system.
Medical Anthropology
Since I first took Introduction to Medical Anthropology during my first semester of college, I have been fascinated by the intricate connection between an individual's physical, mental, and spiritual health and their perception of illness as shaped by their lived environment and culture.
Access to Healthcare
As a volunteer at a homeless clinic and a scribe in a major emergency department, I am very passionate about exploring how an individual's access to healthcare deeply affects their wellbeing in ways that can be corrected by improved infrastructure and the availability of medical services for all who need it.
